Welcome Wonderful Readers!
For my first romance novel I pulled heavily from experiences during my eight years working at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as their Art Theft Program Manager. Sadly, not one of my suspects ever looked like Pierce Brosnan from The Thomas Crown Affair. (Believe me, I’d still be working there if they did.) And I never had the opportunity to dance with abandon in a see-through dress like Rene Russo, but working in the world of art theft does make for an interesting and hectic lifestyle that should make for fun reading. I have chosen elements of various cases that I used for inspiration. Undercover operations, informants, and criminal enterprises swirl around the budding relationship of art consultant Elise Young and FBI Special Agent Brock Cooper from the Art Crime Team (a team I helped create, by the way). A little bit of danger, a lot of romance, and hopefully Elise and Brock will make it to “happily ever after.” This case involves smuggled Greek antiquities. Why did I choose that area? Because I’ve always wanted to go to Greece, so this seemed as good an excuse as any to pack my bags and take a Mediterranean cruise. All in the interests of research, of course. I have included in the novel many of the beautiful locations I visited in Greece including Athens, Santorini, Rhodes, and Mykonos. The country was lovely and the people were very charming. I also spent many hours at the Getty Villa in Malibu researching ancient Greek history and artifacts. I hope you enjoy the unfolding love story of Elise and Brock.
